Hello Masiela,
My name is William and to me your poetry is great, and truly does leave a emotional impact on me. After reading some of yours I wrote this I call it Realize-----
Time, the most uncontrollable of the divine
The sky filled with crys of unreached lives.
Voices unheard, instead torture emerge.
ambitions to embrace this fall from grace.
let your mind be of a sponge, let it soak.turn.burn.
understand that every minute is a moment to never return.-----
I feel people don't appreciate/realize that something as simple yet complex as time itself even just 1 minute is truly amazing and that not even 1 second can ever be redone.
I hope you enjoyed my poem, and if even not I would love your opinion on it. This is my first time letting someone else read my writing but I figure what a better place to start.
I look forward very much to reading more poetry from you. If you enjoyed mine I would like to write more for you to see. -

It's great to be back!
It's always a deeply nurturing experience to read your thoughts. Thank you for your sincere encouragement and poetry! I would like to begin this letter with one of my favorite poems which I feel not only represents me in this time of my life, but you as well. The poem is written by the great Bertrand Russell
Three passions have governed my life:
The longings for love, the search for knowledge,
And unbearable pity for the suffering of humankind.
Love brings ecstasy and relieves loneliness.
In the union of love I have seen
In a mystic miniature the prefiguring vision
Of the heavens that saints and poets have imagined.
With equal passion I have sought knowledge.
I have wished to understand the hearts of people.
I have wished to know why the stars shine.
Love and knowledge led upwards to the heavens,
But always pity brought me back to earth;
Cries of pain reverberated in my heart
Of children in famine, of victims tortured
And of old people left helpless.
I long to alleviate the evil, but I cannot,
And I too suffer.
This has been my life; I've found it worth living.
Sound familiar? ;)
John.... Matthew, thank you for dedicating some of your poetry to me. The greatest reward above all Hollywood glitter is hearing the individual tune of your heart, and understanding how my work can affect you personally. I find my passion for the film industry fueled more by your words than any intangible fulfillment of fame. Reading your thoughts drives my energy and ambitions, because I know there's someone out there who truly appreciates my work and philosophies. Thank you again.
Sarah B, I admire your strength. I would love to hear more about your Light the Night walk with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Your letter left an impression on me. Thank you! I look forward to hearing from you.
Hi, Peter. On the George Lopez show, the writers wrote their poetry for Carmen to recite. I don't believe, in the five years I've worked there, have I read aloud one of my own poems. But what I can tell you is that a lot of my personal secrets are disguised as Carmen's. Now the question is, which ones? hm... :)
Itachi.... when writing a poem, you're essentially accepting the shadows of your heart to be blasted with light. Yes, nearly all of my poems are little diary entries; though like acting, I find poets to have a very selfless profession. Every true poet knows deep in their soul, that it's their duty to use their experiences as an example to help guide the reader through their own. I only translated my experiences into a poem if I felt it could help you, lift you, or enlighten you with your own wisdom and experiences.
Hi Terrell! Shia LaBeouf is an actor I have quite a lot of respect for. I find myself in him sometimes, and would enjoy filming a movie where our personalities flow or clash. Either one would be an interesting experience. I met him only twice in all my years in Hollywood. My first time was on the set of Even Stevens where he turned to me unexpectedly, and offered me a single flower; this was an experience that helped mold my own philosophies on Hollywood...We were both twelve at the time, but his chivalry left an impression on me. In that gesture alone, he showed me what it means to be a decent person. It's amazing, isn't it? One single smile, word, or action can help mold a person's vision and dreams, as well as their respect and perspective on life.
Dear K.C. -- You have a way with words! You flatter me too much. Yes, I think I do have a very eclectic view on music. I love French pop, Chinese pop, Arabic, Italian, symphonies, American 80's as well as Rap, R&B and One Republic. I'm sure you feel the same way about the impression music leaves on a person; but music to me represents certain chapters in my life. Each of those songs I adore allows me to live through certain moments I cherish. For example, classical music reminds me of my life in Vienna when every Sunday public television would deliver symphony masterpieces one after the other accompanied by beautiful pictures of nature and art. Soft music in general reminds me of Barnes and Noble, when I used to spend entire days with my little honey water, finding 20 or so books and flipping through, mesmerized by all the conversations I could have with the writers just in their chapters alone.
This was a nice retreat from my busy morning. Thank you again for all your kind letters. I'll return soon! In the meantime, I would still love to hear more about your own dreams and philosophies.
Yours,
Masiela

I had the great privilege of meeting and hearing wisdom from one of the greatest personal mentors in my life last night, by the name of Dean Kosage. The hotel conference room was filled beyond capacity as we absorbed all he had to say about business, the future, and what it means to make a REAL difference in this world. Coincidentally enough, though I don't believe it is, many if not most of the principles he spoke of reminded me of the things you strive for and all you dream to achieve. One example is that all of us have huge dreams when we're children, but most of us shrink our dreams to the corresponding size of our paychecks because we let the challenges of our lives and the nay-sayers drown out what we saw in our hearts and in our minds of a better life. You took on those challenges and ignored the "advice" of others, and look how far you've come. Dean once posed a question to a similar roomful of people some time ago, and I pose the same question to you. "...when you're lying in bed all alone, with the you that only YOU know, what do you dream of? THAT'S who I'm here to talk to." My dream is to reach whatever level I must to affect however many lives in positive and uplifting ways as it takes to better the community, not just in my area but across the country and the world. I have fears and doubts just like most of us, but one person with courage is always a majority. That is the main reason I respect and love you. One day I'll walk proudly beside you toward the future. -

I just wanted to say that it is nice to see someone like yourself being kind and true to the real world. You are very devoted to your work as well as people of need. That's hard to find that many people like that in this day and time. So keep your hope and spirits high!I wish for you the best of luck out of life! -

Hey again, what you said about all of us reaching the stars with you was very touching to me, thanks for that. My family is going through a rough time and I feel that there are times when I don't have enough confidence in myself and I tend to lose my motivation to work hard in achieving my dream of becoming an electronics engineer. How do you keep yourself motivated and what helps you build up your confidence? -

Hello Masiela. I need some sound words of advice from a talented and published poet such as yourself. First of all I currently attend UC San Diego as a theatre major. I am also aspiring to one day become a well known critic and published author. To this day I have written over three hundred poems and short stories. Everyone I know tells me how talented I am and that I should find some way to get my works published. My problem is though every time I search online on how to have my poems published, nothing appears to be legit. I honestly do not know what to do. Can you help me Masiela. I would greatly appreciate it. I know you are a very busy woman, so whenever you have the chance to respond I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. -

In one of the most natural methods I can come up with, this poem is created out of appreciation for doing all the wonderful things you do in your life & to inspire others. It's called 'Devotion'. "To give everything that lies inside this heart and these hands to you, the only way to feel at home. To show you how much you mean to these lives that you have touched-including this one, the greatest possible expression of gratitude. To see that smile which spreads beyond your soft flesh to the souls its beauty and serenity uplifts, the one blessing that outshines all others. To feel the song that is sung from your spirit through the greater Light you choose to pursue, the truest revelation of the wonders of Heaven. To know that every complete form of fulfillment and peace, of happiness, lies inside you, the Highest reward above everything else in this world to whomever you grace to share your Love with." You're awesome Masey. Don't ever stop being what your heart tells you to be, you're wonderful the way you are. -

Masiela,
I wanted to let you know that you're a great author, actress and that the Masiela Lusha Foundation is a wonderful thing. Your poetry is beautiful. I have a minor in English with a real intrest in poetry and writing. I'm also team captain of Light the Night walk with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I'm 21 and a survivor of leukemia. I feel that help with charity is well needed. You're work is so appreciated. Thank you and God Bless! -
